🃏 Cardle

Cardle is a free daily Pokémon guessing game. Each day at midnight UTC a blurred Pokémon silhouette is shown — your job is to guess which species it is. You get 6 tries. After each wrong guess, the image gets a little less blurry and you receive hints about the answer's generation, types, and body color.

Every guess shows four colored squares: GEN (1-9), TYPE 1, TYPE 2, and COLOR. Green = exact match. Yellow = close (e.g. one generation off, or your guess shares a type with the answer). Grey = no match. The GEN cell also shows an ↑ if the answer is from a newer generation than your guess, ↓ if older.

Any of the 1,025 Pokémon from the official Pokédex (Gens 1-9). The typeahead helps you find them — start typing and pick a suggestion.

The blurred mystery image is the Pokémon's official artwork from the National Pokédex — clean silhouette, no card text to give it away. After you finish the puzzle (win or lose), we also reveal the actual TCG card we picked the species from as a little bonus from our card pool (modern Scarlet & Violet through classic Base Set).

Yes — your streak, win distribution, and stats live in your browser's localStorage. Skip a day and the streak resets, so come back daily to keep it alive.

After every game (win or lose) you'll see a Wordle-style emoji grid you can share to Twitter, Discord, or anywhere. The grid is spoiler-free — it shows your hint colors but not the answer Pokémon.

Not yet. v1 is one daily Pokémon puzzle for everyone. If folks love this we'll add Hard mode (no image hint), an unlimited practice mode, and themed weeks ("Gen 1 only", "Eeveelution week", etc.).
