Pack Simulator FAQ

What is the Pokémon Pack Simulator?
PokeDen's Pack Simulator is a free online tool that lets you open virtual Pokémon TCG booster packs from any set. It uses the same 5 commons / 3 uncommons / 1 reverse holo / 1 rare slot structure as a real pack, weighted by industry-standard pull rates and the latest market prices. No real money is spent and no signup is required.
Are the pull rates realistic?
Yes — each rare slot is weighted across five rarity tiers (Rare, Holo Rare, EX/V/GX, Ultra Rare/Full Art, Secret Rare/Special Art) using approximated industry pull rate data. Inside each tier the probability is split evenly across all cards of that tier in the chosen set, so smaller chase pools (like 2 Special Illustration Rares) have a higher per-card pull rate than larger ones.
Where do the card prices come from?
Card prices are pulled from public TCGPlayer market data and refreshed regularly. New sets that haven't been priced yet still simulate normally — the pack opens, you see every card pulled, and values populate once the market data is available (usually 1–2 weeks after a set's release).
Which sets can I open?
Every modern Pokémon TCG set from Mega Evolution, Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, and Sun & Moon is supported, plus dozens of older sets going back to Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Gym, Neo, e-Card, EX, Diamond & Pearl, Platinum, HGSS, Black & White, XY, and McDonald's Collection promos. Pick any set above to start opening.
Is the Pack Simulator free?
Yes, completely free with no signup required. PokeDen also offers free Pack EV calculation, Pack Battle, Pokédex, and a portfolio tracker for collectors who want to track their real cards.
Can I open a whole booster box?
Yes — every set page has a quantity selector with 1, ETB (~8 packs), 10, and BOX (36 packs) presets. Bulk modes skip the card-by-card reveal animation in favor of an aggregate summary (total value, profit/loss, hit rate, top 12 pulls, and a per-pack breakdown), so you can analyze hundreds of cards in a couple of seconds. Note: only single-pack opens count toward the public top-pulls leaderboard to keep rankings fair.
Why don't bulk opens count toward the leaderboard?
A 36-pack box has ~36× more chances of hitting any given chase card than a single pack. If we let box opens submit to the leaderboard, anyone could spam BOX to climb the rankings. Restricting submissions to single packs keeps top spots feeling like genuine lucky pulls.
